ANZSBT Presidential Symposium Award
This prestigious award is to recognise the best oral presentation delivered during the Presidential Symposium held at the Blood 2023 Meeting as decided by the ANZSBT Council. The Council will initially select abstracts for the Presidential Symposium. The award (with a prize of $750) will be judged on quality and originality of the work and presentation. This award is open to ANZSBT members and non-ANZSBT members. The prize will also include a 1 year complimentary membership of the ANZSBT if the winner is not an ANZSBT member.
ANZSBT Member's Award
In the event that the Presidential Award is won by a non-member, ANZSBT will also award a Member's Award recognising the highest contribution via an abstract or presentation from a Member (with a prize of $500). This award will be decided by the ANZSBT Council.
ANZSBT Young Investigator Award
This award (kindly sponsored by the National Blood Authority) is to recognise the best oral or poster presentation presented during the Blood 2023 Meeting in the ANZSBT stream. The award (with a prize of $500) will be judged by the ANZSBT Council on the quality and originality of the work and presentation.
To be eligible you must be 35 years or less on the last day of the meeting (8/11/2023). For abstracts submitted by more than one author/group, you have to have been the primary researcher/author and the Young Investigator must attend the Meeting to present the abstract. This award is open to ANZSBT members and non-ANZSBT members.
ANZSBT Best Poster Prize
The ANZSBT Council will award a prize of $250 for the best ANZSBT poster judged on quality and orginality of the work and presentation. This award is open to ANZSBT members and non-ANZSBT members.
Blood Management Award
This award (kindly sponsored by the National Blood Authority) is to recognise the best abstract selected for oral or poster presentation on Haemovigilance or Patient Blood Management as decided by the ANZSBT Council. The award (with a prize of $500) will be judged on the quality and originality of the work and presentation. This award is open to ANZSBT members.
Best Oral or Poster Presentation Award demonstrating improvements within a Blood Bank laboratory
This award (kindly sponsored by Immulab) is for the best poster or oral presentation that demonstrates improvements within a Blood Bank laboratory setting with respect to:
The prize of $500 will be awarded to a Blood Service laboratory scientist, hospital transfusion laboratory scientist or private pathology blood bank laboratory scientist in a Blood Bank Pathology laboratory. This award is open to ANZSBT members and non-ANZSBT members.
Clinical Transfusion Award
This award (kindly sponsored by CSL Seqirus) will recognise the best oral free communication or poster presentation at the BLOOD meeting on a clinical transfusion topic as decided by the ANZSBT Council. The award acknowledges safe and appropriate transfusion practice, incorporating fields such as haemovigilance and clinical quality improvement. The award (with a prize of $500) will be judged on the quality and originality of the work and presentation. This award is open to ANZSBT members.
